Do Hearing Aids Help Tinnitus?

Hearing aids can help with tinnitus by masking the ringing or buzzing in the ear and relieving the symptoms.

According to Audiology Associates, hearing aids have been reported to give tinnitus relief to up to 60% of participants. For 22% of those individuals, the relief was significant.

However, hearing aids aren’t designed to treat tinnitus and can be uncomfortable to wear. Furthermore, they are very expensive. Often, insurance providers do not cover the full cost.

The price for hearing aids can range from $1,000 on up to more than $6,000, depending on the technology.

There are plenty of cheaper alternatives for treating tinnitus.
