Signs of Vertigo
Vertigo is a sensation of dizziness and feeling off balance.
According to WebMD, common signs and symptoms of vertigo include:
- Spinning
- Tilting
- Swaying
- Unbalanced
- Pulled to one direction
- Feeling nauseated
- Vomiting
- Abnormal or jerking eye movements (nystagmus)
- Headache
- Sweating
- Ringing in the ears or hearing loss
These symptoms can last a few hours or more.
Common causes of vertigo include head injury, inner ear infections or diseases of the ear such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, and Meniere’s disease.
